Robert Matthew Pecarina

GARNER, NC- Robert Matthew Pecarina, 64, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family Monday, March 4, 2019 after a battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Robert was born in Virginia, MN on September 30, 1954 to Matt and Janie Pecarina. After graduating from the College of St. Scholastica, Rob met and wed the love of his life, Michelle on October 3, 1981. In 1986 Rob and Michelle moved to Raleigh, NC with their 3 sons. Rob worked at NC State University for 30 years until retirement in 2017. Rob enjoyed working on old cars, tinkering around and doing projects around the house. He very much enjoyed spending time with family, especially building and repairing things with his granddaughter Kayla (he taught her well). Rob loved his family and friends tremendously. He was a great listener, offered advice, and accepted everyone. Rob will be sorely missed. Rob is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Michelle; sons Nathan and Trevor; granddaughter Kayla; sisters Jean Erickson (Gary), Mary Lou Conaway (Dave); brothers John Pecarina (Peggy), Jim Pecarina (Sue), Ron Pecarina (Lori), Dan Pecarina (Mary Kaye), Alan Pecarina (Jenny); numerous nieces, nephews and extended family; his fur-family Buckley and Skye. Rob was preceded in death by his parents and son Morgan Pecarina. Per Rob’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. His family would like to thank all for their kind thoughts and prayers.
