Robert Todd was born in New York City on March 23, 1924. While attending law school, he dated and married his first wife, Elaine Kurland, and father to two children, Michael and Lori. Following a separation and divorce, he met and married his second wife, Ceil Antar, who was joined by her two children, Sam and Robert. They moved from New York to Memphis. They retired in Florida but then he returned to Memphis after becoming a widower. With failing health, he relocated to Great Neck, New York near his two stepsons, and finally moved to Raleigh and Durham near his natural children, where he died in bed on October 20, 2019 of natural causes. Following his law schooling final exams, he changed careers and became a proud Manufacturer’s Representative in the lighting industry traveling first, all over the north east, and eventually the south east and Midwest. While living in Memphis, he became a senior Gabbai at the Beth Shalom Synagogue, where he was a beloved congregant, having a close relationship with every rabbi he worked with. He is survived by his children, Michael Todd Koren and Lori Todd, his step-sons Samuel and Robert Antar, and the wife of his first marriage, Elaine Todd Koren. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, October 24, 2019 at Raleigh Hebrew Cemetery, State Street, Raleigh, NC. A service of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Raleigh, NC.
