Bob was a proud veteran of the US Air Force, serving as a Cryptographic Operator in the continental United States and Germany from 1964 - 1968. Following his honorable discharge from the US Air Force, he began his 25+ year career with International Business Machines (IBM) in the metro-DC area and ended in Raleigh NC, with stops in Miami FL, Greenwood SC and Tampa FL along the way. He later worked as a Network Administrator for the NC Department of Transportation until his retirement. Bob was the life of the party. He was known to fill up a room with the best laugh and his gregarious, outgoing personality commanded the attention of everyone around him. He enjoyed life to the fullest - camping, boating, NASCAR, motorcycles, and tinkering with cars. His family, including nieces and nephews, never lacked for entertainment and his relentless teasing taught his children and grandchildren to never take themselves too seriously. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Francis Scott Key Chapel on the grounds of Mt Olivet Cemetery in Frederick MD on June 8, 2022 at 1pm, immediately followed by a graveside service at 2pm. Bob was a proud supporter of our troops and law enforcement. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you please donate in his memory to the military veteran or law enforcement officer charity of your choice.
