“Rock” Johnson

“Rock” Johnson, 92 went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by his loving family. A native of Johnston Co, he was the son of the late Jerry and Sallie Wright Johnson. “Rock” worked in the construction business for many years, building commercial buildings. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army AirCorp during WWII. He was a proud husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. Funeral service will be Wednesday July 19, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel, Garner. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Smithfield, N.C. with Military Honors. “Rock” was preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his children Doris M. Johnson and five siblings; Betty Marcellus, Ben Johnson, Bo Johnson, Doris Parrish and Thomas Johnson. “Rock” is survived by his wife; Evelyn Lewis Johnson; daughters, Cynthia Kay Johnson, Sonya Lynn Watkins and husband John, Karla Dean Spencer and husband Del; son, Scott Millner Johnson and fiancé Laura Ferguson; sister, Dinah J. McLamb; four grandchildren Eric Rattelade and wife Danielle, Bryan Jones, Sarah Katharine Watkins and Wesley Spencer; four great-grandchildren, Jack Rattelade, Giselle Rattelade, Veronica Rattelade and Ori Jones; stepdaughter, Debbie Mozingo and husband Buddy; stepsons, Rick Waddle and wife Debbie and Greg Waddle; six step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild. The family will receive friends and relatives one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made to either Transitions Hospice 250 Hospice Cr.
