Rogelio I. Pasetes

September 19, 1936 — December 24, 2022

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Rogelio Isberto Pasetes, age 86 in Angier, NC. Known to many as Roger, Rogil or Dwei, he was born in Manila, Philippines, and was the son of the late Buenaventura and Marcela Pasetes.

A celebration of Rogelio's life will be held on Friday, January 6th at 3:00 PM at the chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Angier, NC. The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 1:00-3:00 PM at the funeral home.

Rogelio was a kind and loving man who was deeply devoted to his family. He was always willing to listen and offer sound advice. He lived simply, was always very neat, organized, and had a strong work ethic.

After earning a degree in Accounting from the University of the East and becoming a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Rogelio enjoyed a successful career as a Supervising Bank Examiner for the Central Bank of the Philippines. He was also a dedicated husband, never missing an opportunity to kiss his wife hello and goodbye.

Rogelio dedicated himself to serving God and his family. He worked tirelessly to keep the grounds around his home immaculate, and he loved caring for the family pets by giving them extra treats. He also enjoyed spending time with his loved ones, going on outings, dining out, eating chocolate, ice cream, reading, visiting casinos, playing the harmonica, singing, playing pool with his children, and was an active member of “Young Once” in the Senior Fellowship Bowling League at Buffaloe Lanes with his wife, Melodia.

Rogelio is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Melodia D. Pasetes, and their children Alexander Pasetes and wife Kris Kathleen of Rocky Mount, NC, Romel Pasetes of Angier, NC, Eleanor “Len” Pasetes Bishop and husband Laird of Saranac Lake, NY, and Rogelio II "Roel" Pasetes and wife Angela of Celina, TX. He is also survived by his granddaughters Lauren Pasetes Bishop of Plattsburgh, NY and Emberly Raine Pasetes of Celina, TX, their beloved pet George; as well as his brother Oscar Pasetes and wife Lydia of the Philippines.

Rogelio was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Cristing, Maning, Auring, Loring, Bennie, Eddie, Lily and Fred.

Rogelio will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him. We are grateful for the time we had with him and will always cherish the memories of his kindness, devotion, and love.
