Roger Lee Jones, Jr.

Roger Lee Jones, Jr., 78, passed away unexpectedly on March 25, 2023. Roger was born on January 29, 1945, in Wake County, North Carolina. He was the son of the Virginia Dare Jones and the late Roger Lee Jones, Sr. Roger was a proud American, served honorably in the US Navy. He operated Ray’s Print Shop, in Fuquay Varina and owned Bedford Printing Company, in Raleigh. He was an active missionary in Eastern Europe, India, and the Philippines. He was also an active member of the American Legion. He had many hobbies, but his favorite was gardening.

In addition to his father, Roger was preceded in death by his son, David Craft; brother, Tony Jones; and grandparents, John M. and Sula Jones and Raymond and Blanche E. Griffin.

Roger is survived by his loving wife, Rosalyn Jones; daughter, Rhonda Jones Smith; sisters, Donna Byrd (Glenn), Deborah Murphy (Billy), Diane Prevatte (Rick), and Joy Byrd (Joseph); grandchildren, Joshua Smith and wife, Brittany, of Arizona, Josiah Smith and wife, Tasha, of Massachusetts, Christa Blesi and husband, Jon, of Missouri, Joel Smith, of Pennsylvania, Jonathan Smith, of Pennsylvania, and Hannah Craft; great-grandchildren, Kaylee Smith, Naomi Smith, Noah Smith, Arwen Smith, Hayden Blesi; Nora Blesi; and Judah Smith.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 30, 2023, 11:00 am, at The Capital Church, 1308 US-70 W, Garner, NC 27529. Burial will be at 2pm at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1621 NC HWY 55 Fuquay Varina, NC 27526. The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 29, 2023, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 1200 Benson Road, Garner, NC 27529.
