Roger Raymond Pavone

June 29, 1952 — December 7, 2017

Roger was born in Freeport Long Island , NY, to Charlotte and William James Pavone, Sr. He worked many jobs as a laborer in and around Long Island. After the death of his father, he moved back home to take care of his mother until her death. He was on staff at the Retreat Center of Gospel Community Church in Sayville, Long Island, where he was born again in 1986.  Fittingly, the last job he worked before moving to North Carolina in 2008 was for a lawn maintenance service. Besides his faith in the Lord, Jesus Christ, Roger’s passion was gardening and friends would often find him planting, pruning and weeding-even until the last months of his life-his little garden. Roger led a simple life but one of great faith. He truly believed that his faith in Jesus would see him through everything. Memorial service will be at 3:00 PM Saturday Dec. 9, at Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel, Garner. Roger is survived by his older brother; William James Pavone, Jr. and wife Susan of Ronkonkoma, NY, nieces Amy Lynn Hissinger of Ronkonkoma, NY, and Michelle Anne Pavone of Centereach, NY, nephew Michael Thomas PAvone of Ronkonkoma, NY and best friends, Tommy and Liz Perniciaro of Willow Spring, NC and their extended family. The family will receive friends after the service.
