Roger Vearl Crist

Roger Vearl Crist, 80, of Garner, North Carolina passed away Monday, April 20th at 7:45am, after a long illness.  He was preceded in death by his father, Vearl Oliver Crist, and one sister, Judith Suzanne Crist.  He is survived by his wife, Effie Sevy Crist, his mother, Emogene McVey Smith, one son, Gregory Laird Crist (Christine) and three grandchildren, Erik Snowden, Britta Jacqueline, and Cassidy Jane Crist of Garner, NC.  One sister, Wanda Mitchell of Norton, Ohio.  Two brothers, Gale Smith (Dianne), Greenville, NC and Joe Smith (Toni), Parkersburg, WV.  One aunt, Irene Galloway Franks, St. Petersburg, FL and many nieces nephews and cousins.  Roger served in the United States Army.  Before moving to NC, the Crist family lived in Hilton Villiage (Rainelle), WV.  Roger was a good son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and cousin.  He was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by us all.
