Ron Barrett

FUQUAY-VARINA – Ron Barrett, 85, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, June 5, 2022. Born in Benton Harbour, Michigan, he was the son of the late Fred Barrett and Frances Kruk Barrett. Ron was a man of many talents who enjoyed helping others. He enjoyed reading, traveling, working with his hands, sitting on his front porch enjoying God’s creation, and being with family. Ron was a veteran of the US Army. He was a faithful member of Kennebec Baptist Church where he loved and served his church family. He was a choir member, served on various committees including serving on the Sunday School accounting committee for many years. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 9th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 10th at 11:00 AM at Kennebec Baptist Church, Angier. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00-10:45 AM at the church. Ron is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Sylvia McLeod Barrett; daughters, Megan Hall of Richardson, TX, Darcy Kniesel (Joey) of Garland, TX; son, Scott Barrett (Alma) of Mansfield, TX; sister, Kay Green of Eureka Springs, AR; brother, Bob Hubbard (Peg) of Clearwater, FL; 12 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Tonya Barrett; sister, Shirley Bienick; brothers, Bill Hubbard, and Dick Hubbard. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Kennebec Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 1690 Angier, NC 27501.
