Ronald Arthur “Ronnie” Lowe

Ronald Arthur Lowe (Ronnie), 62 of New Bern, NC passed away peacefully on Friday, April 24 at Rex Hospital with his family by his side. Born in Wake County, NC he was the son of the late Charles and Eloise Lowe of Cary. Ronnie is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Kathryn “Kit” Lowe; son, Jimmy Gaskins and wife, Kristine of Mt. Gilead; daughters, Kathy Cottle and husband, Herman of Lillington; Heather Szalanski and husband Paul of Fuquay-Varina; grandchildren, Katie and Karissa Donohue, Nicholas and Amber Cottle, and Riley Szalanski; sister, Linda Brown of Waynesville, NC. Ronnie was passionate about his family, fishing and hunting. He also was passionate about his job at Wake Tech where he trained young men and women for the heavy equipment industry. The success of his graduates is a testament to his commitment to training highly skilled graduates with a strong work ethic and a sense of being a part of something bigger than themselves. In lieu of flowers, the family has established the Ronald (Ronnie) Lowe Memorial Scholarship at Wake Technical Community College.
