Raleigh - Rosalie B. Truelove, 92, passed away on Wednesday. She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Minnie Braswell of Princeton, NC and was the second youngest of ten children. She is preceded in death by her husband Jackson C. Truelove, to whom she was married for 55 years and by her granddaughter, Carmen Hart Pinkerton (Randy, of Henderson). She is survived by her two daughters, Betsy T. Maness of Cary, and Laura L. Truelove of Raleigh, two grandchildren, Michael Alex Hart and wife, Angela of Raleigh, and Robin Hart Wascher and husband, Dan, of Raleigh, 5 great-grandchildren, Justin, McKenzy, Bethanie, Katie and Micah, and four great, great grandchildren, Jordan, Makayla, Arianna, Dylan, and Dazani. Rosalie grew up on her family’s farm in Princeton, NC where they farmed tobacco and cotton. She loved to tell stories about when she worked as a school bus driver before she moved to Raleigh to attend Harbarger College in 1944. She married Jack in 1946. She was a member of the Capital City Church of God for over 40 years. She loved her church, her church family, and her bible. A devoted wife, patient mother, and loving grandmother, Rosalie was special. She was a fantastic cook, who made the best “slickem” in town. (That’s chicken and pastry- handmade from scratch). She loved flowers, fried oysters, listening to music and dancing, sitting outside with the sunshine on her face, watching her birds especially cardinals, and walking. She will be greatly missed by her children and grandchildren, and remembered fondly through precious memories. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 1:30 PM at Capital City Church of God, Raleigh. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park, Raleigh. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM - 1:15 PM at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Capital City Church of God Building Fund, 1500 Hedingham Blvd, Raleigh 27604.
