Rosemary Heath Jones

On Saturday, September 9th, Rosemary Heath Jones passed away surrounded by family. She was eighty- eight years old. Rosemary was born on October 23,1934 to Aubrey & Mary Heath in Elizabeth City, NC. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her husband William “Bill” Jones and her brother Aubrey Heath. She is survived by; her son William (Watt) Watson Jones, Jr. (Cheri) of Jamestown, TN; her son Charles Leigh Jones of North Myrtle Beach, SC; her daughter Deborah Jones Moore (Eric) of Garner, NC; her grandson Lee Finn, granddaughter Carey Winfree, grandson Addison Moore and grandson Heath Jones as well as her eight great-grandchildren.

Rosemary spent her career as a bookkeeper for Holiday Inn and then for the Law firm of Aycock, Spence and Butler. She retired from Outer Banks Insurance in 2005.

Rosemary was an avid Redskins fan. She was a member of Holland’s Methodist Church and loved the people in her Sunday School Class.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Rosemary’s caregivers during her journey with Alzheimer, Berniece Jones, Nancy Ray, Dee Liggins, Lisa Johnson and Grace Chaffee . They also would like to give a special thank you to the home staff of 3HC and to the staff at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Services will be held on Sunday, September 17th, at Holland’s United Methodist Church (9433 Ten-Ten Road Raleigh, NC 27603). Visitation will be from 2-3 PM with the funeral service to follow. Graveside service will be held following the service in the Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to 3HC Hospice Services of Goldsboro, NC.
