Roslyn G. (Rizzuto) Desposito

DURHAM - Roslyn G. (Rizzuto) Desposito, 94, passed peacefully on July 20, 2020, at her home in Durham, NC. She was born in New York on April 16, 1926 and married her true love, the late Stephen A. Desposito, on June 12, 1948. Together, they raised two sons, the late Stephen A. Desposito of Kingston, RI, and Michael E. Desposito of Durham. “Rose” was a loving person who cared deeply for her family. She was a devoted Catholic who enjoyed playing golf, bridge, bingo, doing puzzles, and traveling to Naples, FL, each winter. She will be lovingly remembered by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael E. Desposito and Shelley Benson of Durham; daughter-in-law Joyce E. (Desposito) Husband of Las Cruces, NM; her grandchildren Jennifer Bartley of Pembroke, VA, and Lisa Phaneuf of Fort Collins, CO; their spouses Travis Bartley and Aaron Phaneuf; great-grandchildren Hannah Bartley, Elyn Bartley, Sophia Bartley, James Phaneuf, and Henry Phaneuf; sisters-in-law Eleanor Rizzuto and Veronica Rizzuto, and many other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, son, parents (Samuel E. and Philomena Rizzuto), and brothers (Benedict Rizzuto and Vito Rizzuto). A private family service will be held in her honor.
