ANGIER – Roy Lee McGee, 86, passed away Sunday at his home. A native of Harnett County, he was the son of the late Carlie McGee and Emily Mae Clifton McGee. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 9th at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier. Burial will follow at Lakeside Memorial Gardens, Angier. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 -1:45 PM at the funeral home. Following the burial, the family invites you to join them for a time of remembrance and fellowship at the Angier Senior Citizens Building at 255 W. Williams St., Angier, NC, 27501. Mr. McGee is survived by his son, Billy Ray McGee (Lorie) of Wake Forest; sister, Jewel McGee Perry of Kinston; grandchildren, Shelly Hawley (Shane) of Wake Forest, Stephanie Carew (Michael) of Wake Forest; great-grandchildren, Michael Carew, Jr., Rayleigh Carew, Tyler McGee, Savannah Barnes, Lauren Barnes, Colby Hawley, Cara Hawley-Avery; great-great-granddaughter, Saylor McGee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Myrtle Matthews McGee; son, Danny Lee McGee; sisters, Betty McGee Blanchard and Bessie McGee Whitman; brothers, Troy McGee and Charles McGee.
