Russell E. Anderson

June 17, 1932 — April 14, 2017

Russell E. Anderson, 84, died Friday, April 14, 2017. He was the son the late Russell R. and Addie Mae Anderson and was born in Goldsboro, NC. Russell served in the Army National Guard for 9 years and was employed by Carolina Power and Light Company for 35 years. He loved fishing, travel, photography, watching western movies and working crossword puzzles. His family was the most important thing in his life and dearly loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 AM at Garner United Methodist Church with a 1 hr visitation prior to the service. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. He is survived by his wife Frances; sons, Rusty Anderson (Hazel), Joey Anderson; grandsons, Jeremy Anderson, Steven Anderson (Bethany), Curtiss Davis (Wanda); granddaughter, Sonya Holloway (Darrell); great-grandchildren, Aurora Anderson, Ariel Anderson, Rachel Anderson, Steven Davis, Blanca Holloway, Cameron Holloway, Alexis Holloway; sister, Lynda Anderson Smith; brother, Luther Anderson; adoptive son, Tracey Bell (Mary) and family. Preceded in death by his parents Russell and Addie Mae Anderson; sister-in-law, Sallye Anderson; brother-in-law, Doug Smith. In leiu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hope Ministries of Garner United Methodist Church 201 Methodist Drive Garner, NC 27529.
