Russell E. Sypolt, Sr.

ANGIER - Retired Master Sergeant Russell E. Sypolt, Sr., passed away, March 24, 2011. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday March 30, 2011 at Angier United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at 2:00 PM at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake, NC with full military honors.Survivors include his wife; Catherine M. Sypolt; four daughters; Linda D. Hunter and husband Robert, Mary A. Sypolt, Sheila Bensey and husband Mike and Sherry Herman; four sons, LtCol (USAF RET) Russell E. Sypolt, Jr. and wife Shirley, Capt (USMC RET) Robert C. Sypolt and wife Cathy, GS-13 (USMC) Richard A. Sypolt and wife Cindy and Robbie E. Sypolt; two brothers, Rev. Arney Sypolt and wife Etta Mae and Harold Sypolt and wife Gladys; 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends and relatives Tuesday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home. The entire Sypolt family is very thankful to the staff at the Veterans Hospital in Durham, NC for the outstanding care and attention provided to Russ during his nine months in their care.
