Russell Terance McLean, 84, passed away peacefully on Wednesday September 7, 2022.
A native of Coats, Russell was the son of the late Nolan McLean and Ruby Haswell McLean. He met and married the love of his life Patsy Spivey and they were married for nearly 61 years.
They made their home in Angier, NC where they raised their two sons Randy and Derek. Russell worked for CP&L and retired from there after 37 years of dedicated service. He spent most of his time in retirement going to his grandchildren’s activities. He loved his family very much and was extremely proud of his four grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 11th at 3:00 PM at Kennebec Baptist Church, Angier. Burial will follow the service at Kennebec Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 – 2:45 at the church.
Russell is survived by his loving wife, Patsy; sons, Randy (Tamsen) and Derek (Tammy); grandchildren, Haylee McLean, Heather McLean, Elizabeth McLean & Nolan McLean; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Nolan and Ruby McLean; brothers, Jack McLean, Carlton McLean, Marvin McLean, Robert McLean; sisters, Betty Stewart & Sue Mason.
Russell was an active member of Kennebec Baptist Church where he volunteered in many capacities as well as serving as a Deacon during multiple years. He loved serving the Lord while also helping and assisting others.
The McLean family would also like to thank the staff at the Wake Medical Hospital Cardiac Intensive Care Unit and Wake Medical Heart Center for their wonderful and loving care of Russell during this trying period.
