Ruth Jones

APEX – Ruth Jones, 91, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2023.

She was born in Wake County on September 7, 1931, the daughter of the late James and Rosa Moore.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Thomas Jones, Sr.; sisters, Elizabeth Woodall, Kathleen Jones, and Virginia House; and her brother, James Moore.

She is survived by her loving family, which includes her daughters, Lelle J. Hobby and husband, Mike, of Garner, JoAnn D. Clark and husband, Derrell, of Leland; son, Tom Jones and wife, Peggy, of Fuquay-Varina; sister, Melba Fulghum; grandchildren, Whitney, Sean, Nicholas, Little Derrell, Crystal, Amber, and Andrew; and 13 great grandchildren with 1 on the way.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 5, 2023, at the Salvation Army of Raleigh, with visitation ½ hour prior at the church. Burial will follow in the Swift Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Raleigh.
