Ruth Michelle Upchurch Hammock

Raleigh - Ruth Michelle Upchurch Hammock, 68, died Friday. A native of Wake County, she was the daughter of the late Richard Berkley Upchurch and Ruby Elizabeth Parrish Upchurch. Michelle lived in Milledgeville, GA most of her adult life. She retired as a nursing supervisor at Central State Hospital in Milledgeville. A graveside service will be held 12:00 pm Saturday, May 17th at Nunn-Wheeler Family Cemetery, GA. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 14th from 6-8:00 pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. Survivors include her brother, Robert Upchurch; nieces, Kay Taylor, Shannon Kerns (Brian), Melonie Keith (David) ; nephews, Mike Bynum (Denise), Chris Bynum, Scott Bynum (Virginia), Tim Bynum (Ann) ; numerous extended family in NC and her husbands family in GA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Red Hammock and sister, Ann Bynum, Dena Johnson, Lindy Ray; brothers, Jim, Berkley and Milton Upchurch. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Hospice of Wake Co. for their care.
