Sandra Ogburn Dail

Sandra Ogburn Dail of Garner, NC went to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 79 on Saturday, February 6, 2021. A native of Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late T. Glenn and Norma Partin Ogburn. Sandra attended Cleveland School and Elon University, and was a leader and property manager in Florida and Wilmington. An honorable woman of faith, she served Jesus at Plymouth Church on Rock Service Station Road during her youth, Winterpark Baptist Church, in Wilmington, for over 20 years, fulfilling roles as a Stephen minister, deacon and member of the hospitality committee and other various church roles. Hospitality was one of her spiritual gifts. She always said that being a wife, daughter, sister, and aunt were her greatest priorities. Sandra and Jim were married for 43 wonderful years after originally meeting on a blind date. That first lunch date led to a lifelong devotion to one another filled with adventure and happiness. They traveled the world, often generously taking along friends or family. Those who traveled with them will forever remember their trips and time spent together fondly. To know Sandra was to love her and to feel the unconditional love she shared for others. She, along with Jim, opened their hearts and home to a multitude of friends and family, making all who entered feel welcomed. Sandra was well known for being the life of the party while hosting dinner parties, family gatherings, and sleepovers for her nieces and nephews, as well as their friends. She loved children and would always make them welcomed at her home. Her family was her life and she and Jim would get so much joy from the time spent with them, maintaining close relationships with all in the Partin and Ogburn families. Sandra brought much joy to anyone she encountered in her daily life and in her travels with Jim. She had many, many friends because she was such a loving, caring, sociable friend herself. Sandra never met a stranger and had the ability to make anyone comfortable around her. A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday at Greenleaf Memorial Park, 900 River Road, New Bern, NC. Surviving: her husband of 43 years, William Jimmy “Jim” Dail, brother, Gerald Ogburn and Nancy Wilson of Greensboro, Sister-in-law, Becky Partin and husband, Lane Partin, nieces, Leslie Popik and her husband, John Popik and children Riley, Mason and Kerrigan, Sarah Duvall and her husband, Phillip Duvall and Olivia Ogburn and Justin Beck, nephew, Grant Partin and his wife, Kelley Partin.
