Sara Elizabeth Prince

Sara Elizabeth McCain Prince went to be with the Lord on September 22, 2021. She was born to Everett and Kathleen McCain on July 27, 1936. She married the love of her life, James Prince, on August 20, 1954 and enjoyed almost 60 years of marriage before his passing in 2013. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Eileen Adams. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Saturday at Amplify Church. The family will receive friends following the service. Sara is survived by her 5 children Cheryl (Rob) Francis of Ashland, Ky; Jim (Kim) Prince of Wilson, NC; Libby Elliott of Dunn, NC; Lynn Rogers of Angier, NC, and Rob (Lori) Prince of Raleigh, NC. She is survived by 3 sisters, Jenelda (Rich) Frantz, Barbara Klaiber, and Kay Hampton and a brother, David (June) McCain. She had 11 grandchildren: Rob Francis, Lisa (Steve) Roberson, Bethany (Andrew) Dunn, Felicia Adams, Sarah Kuhn, Keith Mangus, Curtis (Kaitlyn) Elliott, David Roadman, Tracy Roadman, Drew (Mattie) Roadman, Anna (Christopher) Prince. She spent her later years being Hee-Haw to 18 great grandchildren, and she was loved beyond measure by each of them. Sara served the Lord faithfully for many years and was a member of Raleigh First Church of the Nazarene where she enjoyed singing in the church choir. As her memory faded these last several years, she still remembered her love for the Lord, and singing her gospel songs was something she did right up to the end. Sara’s gift for hospitality was evident in the door to her home that was always open and her dinner table where there was always room for one more.
