Garner—-Sarah Anne “Susie” Kirby Parks, 84, formerly of Garner, died peacefully at her home in Va. Beach, VA., on Sunday, January 16, 2022. She is the daughter of the late John P. and Martha Louise Kirby. Susie loved her Savior, Jesus Christ, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Garner. She was a wonderful cook and homemaker and was married to the love of her life, the late Charles Lowery Parks for almost 65 years. She is survived by her daughters, Patti Frankenfield and husband, Barry, of Va. Beach, Pam Keenan of Raleigh, and Penny Knight and husband, Gary, of Garner. She is also survived by grandchildren Chris (Rachel) Frankenfield, Colin (Kim) Frankenfield, Ryan Frankenfield, Cole Keenan, Amy (Josh) Taylor, and John Newsom; and great-granddaughters Riley, Ellie, Sloane, and Grace Frankenfield, Hadlee Taylor, and Baby Boy Frankenfield due July 2022. Also surviving are her sister, Virginia Kirby (William) Priester of Mobile, AL and sister-in-law, Dorothy Parks Buchanan of Huntsviille, AL and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Peggy. A private graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 2, at 1:00 PM at Montlawn Memorial Park, Raleigh. Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner, is handling all arrangements.
