ANGIER- Sarah Collins Weis, 91, passed away Monday night surrounded by her loving family. A native of Harnett County she was the daughter of the late Dallas and Zorah Kelly Collins. She taught school in Harnett and Wake County schools for 30 plus years. She was best known by her students for her reading and storytelling. She was a member of Angier Baptist Church and The Golden Gems. Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 3:00 PM at Angier Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Lakeside Memorial Gardens, Angier. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:30 PM prior to the service at the church. Surviving are her daughter, Bonnie Young and husband, Ted; son, Bobby Joe Weis and wife, Virginia all of Angier; sisters, Peggy Johnson, Lou Lawrence and Sue Upchurch, all of Angier; brother, Richard “Sonny Boy” Collins of Angier; grandchildren, Timmy Weis and wife, Debra, Jennifer Hendges and husband, Chris all of Angier, Tabitha Deller and husband, Steve of Dillsburg, PA, Matthew Young and wife, Gail of Mechanicsburg, PA; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Alvin Weis; sisters, Inez Stephenson, Malissie Tripp, Bertha Pleasant, Mary Gilliam and Velma Myatt; brothers, Dallas Collins, Jr., Jimmy Collins, Colon Collins and Clarence Collins. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Angier Baptist Church building fund or new roof project, 155 S. Hickory St. Angier, NC 27501 in Sarah’s memory.
