WILLOW SPRING – Seth Sunday Fish, 87, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2015. A native of Wake County, he was the son of the late Dorsey Herbert and Mary Mae Rowland Fish. Seth served in the Army Air Force from 1946 to 1947. He was actively involved in agriculture his entire life. He worked for Liggett and Myers Tobacco Company until he started raising tobacco and operating a dairy in the late 50’s. He transitioned to beef cattle in the early 70’s, which he continued until his retirement. Seth was active in the county Farm Service Agency and the Cattleman’s Association throughout his career. He was known for implementing new techniques in farming practices and was recognized in many farm publications. Seth also received a number of awards for outstanding performance of his dairy herd and was a forerunner in the implementation of sod planting techniques that have become widely used. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 4, 2015 at 11:00 A. M. in the Chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier, NC. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Fuquay-Varina, NC. Surviving are his wife of sixty-one years, Jean Elizabeth Shaw Fish; sons, Alan Bruce Fish and wife Sherry of Willow Spring, Grant Jason Fish and wife Jennifer of Burlington; sister, Peggy Dickerson of Raleigh; brother, Billy Fish of Willow Spring; three grandchildren, Jessica, Megan and Samantha; and a herd of heartbroken cows. Visitation with the family will be Sunday, May 3, 2015 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Angier, N.C.
