She demonstrated a life of serving others both in her professional career and with her social and community activities. Dale graduated from NC Wesleyan College and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. She began pursuing a career with her passion of working with and making a better life for the physically and mentally challenged adults and children. She spent 25 years between N.C. Easter Seals and Lutheran Family Services of the Carolinas, allowing her to provide opportunities, education and housing for that population. She had such a loving heart for this special population and served on several committees to be their voice for make a better life for them. Later in life, Dale changed careers and went into NC State Government working with the Department of Public Safety, Controller’s Office and then Community Corrections which brought new and exciting challenges to her life. Dale worshiped her Lord and Savior at Providence Baptist Church where she gave faithfully of her time and energy to various ministries. Having grown up in Duncan Baptist Church, she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior and learned about the joy of volunteering and helping others and it spoke to her heart. She was active and enjoyed Sunday school, GAs, Youth Choir and the youth programs. Her love for volunteering and helping others continued into her adult life by being active in the Raleigh Jaycees and the NC Jaycees for about 15 years, 6 of those years were spent being a part of the Miss North Carolina Scholarship Pageant. Dale adored her nephew Ron and loved being a great-aunt to Liam, Emma and Ellie. Her love for her family and friends was evident in the many Christmas cookies, meals and re-creation of her Mama’s pound cake that she loved to share for gatherings and special occasions. Those who knew Dale came to love her for her kindness and sweet disposition. One could not help but to be drawn to her by her nurturing spirit and beautiful smile. She approached life with the attitude of “Make a statement”, and it showed in the way she carried herself and encouraged others. Dale had a love of being outside and that was visible by interest in bike riding, gardening, golf, volunteering with the Emerald Isle Turtle Watch Program and shagging to the sound of beach music. These things and her love for the beach were only outmatched by her love for her twin sister, Gale. Dale is preceded in death by her parents P.G. and Helen Tutor and brother, Ronnie Tutor. She is survived by her twin sister, Gale Tutor; nephew Ron and Catherine Tutor; great-nephew Liam Tutor and twin great-nieces Emma Cate and Ellie Grace. The family would like to thank Duke Cancer Center and CenterPeice for their loving care for Dale over this past year and the many family and friends that have been by her side through this fight. Memorial contributions may be made to The Preston Robert Tisch Tumor Center, Duke University Medical Center, DUMC Box 3624, Durham, NC 27710.
