August 29, 1959 - September 24, 2011 Sharon Farrior Gurley of Raleigh, age 52, entered Heavens joy on September 24 following a battle with pancreatic cancer. Her family was by her side. She is survived by her loving husband and soul mate, Lloyd. Also surviving are her mother, Elgia Scott Farrior of Kenly, sisters, Vicky (Ken) of Chesapeake, VA, Ann, of Fleetwood, Teena (Larry) of OKC, OK, and five nieces and nephews. She was Nana to Lydia and Ella, daughters of Richie and Natalie Gurley of Willow Spring. Preceding her in death were her father, Walter Farrior, and brother-in-law, Bill Cooper. Sharon loved the Lord Jesus Christ. She was an active member of Temple Baptist Church and used her lovely singing voice as a frequent soloist in the choir and in the Cheneniah Singers. Living life to the fullest, Sharon invested herself in forming lasting friendships. She was a graduate of Meredith College where many of her life-long friendships began. Lloyd and Sharon enjoyed traveling and sampling culinary delights wherever they went. Sharon enjoyed working with Gregory Poole Equipment Company for 20 years, most recently in the finance department area as a business analyst. She is survived also by her cats, Mollie and Ellie, of the home. The family would like to thank the staffs of Duke Medical Center and Rex Hospital for their excellent care of Sharon. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh. Services will be at Temple Baptist Church, 1417 Clifton Street, Raleigh, on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Creechs Cemetery on Creechs Mill Road in Smithfield.
