Sharon Gail Sattelberg

Angier, NC - TSgt(R) Sharon Gail Sattelberg, 77 passed away July 15, 2024 in Cary, North Carolina.


Born in Wichita Falls, Texas on October 17, 1946 to Clarence and Lottie Morris. Sharon retired from the Air Force after 20 years of dedicated service. During her time in the Air Force, Sharon found and married Vern Sattelberg. Together they had 2 boys, Ryan and Eric.


After her retirement from the Air Force, Sharon worked at multiple companies in Alamogordo, New Mexico until she retired for good in 2010. In 2015, when Vern finally retired, they would travel and spend as much time as they could with their three grandchildren (Audrey, Jackson, and Reese). Sharon and Vern supported both of their boys during their time in the Army and would travel around the world visiting them wherever they were serving at the time.


Sharon spent time volunteering throughout the community, especially with supporting the numerous sporting events Ryan and Eric participated in. She volunteered with the Alamogordo Optimist Little League Program and throughout several high school sports.


Sharon will be remembered as a loving sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. She cherished her family and instilled strong family values in everyone.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Vern, son’s, John and Michael, father, Clarence Morris, mother, Lottie Reip, brothers, Jimmy, Ronald, and Gerald Morris.


Sharon leaves behind a beautiful family survived by her sons, SGM (R) Ryan Sattelberg (Sarah) of Holly Springs, NC and LTC Eric Sattelberg (Kirk) of Alexandria, Virginia, and her grandchildren, Audrey, Jackson, and Reese Sattelberg. She is also survived by her brother, Johnny Morris (Peggy) of Bellingham, Washington, and sister-in-laws, Caroline Morris of Gresham, Oregon and Wanda Morris of Corbin, Kentucky, as well as several nieces, nephews, and in-laws.


Cremation has taken place, and a memorial celebration will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, August 30th in the chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Angier, North Carolina. Sharon's final resting place will be with her husband, Vern Sattelberg in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
