Willow Spring - Sharon Umstead Jackson, 44, passed away on Monday. A native of Wake County, she was the daughter of the late Alexander Wiley Umstead and Jacquelyn Thigpen Umstead Johnson. Sharon was a patient financial manager at Wake Medical Center. Funeral services will be Friday, 2:00pm at C-3 Church, Clayton. Burial will follow in the Jackson Family Cemetery in Sampson County. Surviving are her husband, Jimmy Jackson; daughter, Jenna Marie Jackson; son, James Alexander Jackson; mother, Jackie Thigpen Johnson and step-father, Dr. George W. Johnson of Roxboro; brother, Kevin Alexander Umstead of Marietta, GA; step-sister, Mary George Johnson of Durham; step-brother, Eric Johnson of Louisburg; father and mother-in-law, Jimmy and Judy Jackson of Raleigh; brothers-in-law, Johnny Jackson and wife, Cheryl and Jody Jackson and wife, Misty; all of Clayton; nieces and nephews, Skylar Umstead, Allen Jackson, Joann Jackson, Claire and Savannah Johnson; aunt, Sandra Umstead Pope of Athens, TN; uncles, Jimmy Thigpen and wife, Jacki of McMinnville, OR and Robert E. Richardson of Garner, as well as numerous cousins and friends. In addition to herfather, she was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Raymond and Sarah Umstead; maternal grandparents, Eddie and Anne Thigpen; aunt, Hilda T. Richardson, all of Garner. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm Thursday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner and at other times at the home of Jimmy and Judy Jackson, 533 Maple Lane, Raleigh. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made at any NC State Employees Credit Union, to an educational account for Jenna and Alex Jackson.
