WILLOW SPRING – Sheila Pulley Hatch, 66, passed away Monday, April 8, 2019. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, April 12, 2019 at Mid-Way Baptist Church, Raleigh. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Park, Clayton. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Sheila was born in Wake County on August 9, 1952, the daughter of the late Jesse and Mae Austin Pulley. She was a graduate of Enloe High School, class of 1970. Sheila was a faithful and dedicated member of Mid-Way Baptist Church in Raleigh, where she served in the nursery. Children were her life’s joy, especially infants and young children. She was truly a mother to any one in need of a mom and will be greatly missed by all that knew her in the days ahead. Sheila enjoyed spending vacations camping at the beach, cooking Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner for family, and above all, spending time with her grandchildren. Sheila is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Preston Hatch; daughters, Desa Brantley and husband, Kevin of Spring Hope, Karin Rackley and husband, Jason of Garner; grandchildren, Garrett Brantley, Kylie Rackley, Avery Rackley; sister, Jessie “Sissy” Lanier and husband, Payton of Garner; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family. In addition to her parents, Sheila was preceded in death by her brother, Danny Pulley. In tribute to Sheila and her love for children, memorial contributions to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital are requested in lieu of flowers.
