Shelia Odell Mclean

Sun City Center, FL – Shelia Odell McLean, 72, formerly of Angier, NC passed away at LifePath Hospice Sun City Center Hospice House in Florida on Saturday, August 3, 2024. Born in Harnett County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Alex Odell McLean and Bertha Hart McLean. Shelia was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at a young age. It was said by her doctors that she may live into her 40’s. Shelia proved those doctors wrong, living until she was 72 years old. Though she had many challenges in life, Shelia had great zest, spunk and determination. She wasn’t going to let her disease be the only thing that defined her life.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, August 11th at Kennebec Baptist Church, 9808 Kennebec Church Rd. Angier, NC 27501. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-1:45 pm prior to the service at the church.

Shelia is survived by her sisters, Bonnie Dean, Violet Faye McLean, Shelbie Leonard, and Pingia Klos and husband, Stan; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
