Sherrill Denning

GARNER – Sherrill Denning, 78, passed away Friday.  A native of Wake County, he was the son of the late William and Geneva Fields Denning.  In addition to his parents, Sherrill is preceded in death by his brother, Gerald Denning. Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM Monday at Hollands United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-1:45 pm prior to the service at the church. Survivors include his beloved wife of 58 years, Stella Maie Church Denning, daughter, Carla Jo Denning Motley and husband, Wayne of Angier; sons, Michael Sherrill Denning and wife, Sandra of Tampa FL, Jay Stuart Denning and wife, Stacy of Cary; grandchildren, Justin Denning, Jonathan Hopwood, Joshua Hopwood, Patrick Shannon, Caroline Shannon, Victoria Shannon, Carrie Karl, Brandon Arnold, Maddi Motley and Jake Motley; sisters, Rochelle Snead and husband Talmage of Four Oaks, Minnie Wilkes and husband, Arbie of Newton Grove, Linda Stafford and husband, Charles of Erwin, Judy Jackson and husband, Poole of Dunn, Gail Whittington and husband, Johnny of Benson.
