Shirley Goss Johnson

Angier- Shirley Goss Johnson, 82, went into the loving arms of Jesus Christ her lord and savior surrounded by her loving family.  She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.  A native of Harnett County, she is the daughter of the late Leroy and Avie Gregory Goss.  Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and a devoted nurse for over 35 years. Shirley is survived by her son, Donny Johnson and wife, Deborah of Holly Springs; daughter, Cindy Smith and husband, Randy of Angier; sisters, Kathryn Hockaday and husband, Elbert of Holly Springs, Patsy Hockaday and husband, Donald of Angier; grandchildren, Megan Johnson, Brandon Johnson and wife, Samantha; great-grandchildren, Abagail and Garrett Johnson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Lillian Edwards. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday at Piney Grove Chapel Baptist Church.  Burial will follow at Angier Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Piney Grove Chapel Baptist Church, 4440-A Piney Grove Rd., Angier NC 27501.
