Mrs. Shirley Ann Quick Fields, 89 of Stokes, N.C., went to her heavenly home after a brief illness on November 5, 2023.
She was born in Richmond County, NC on October 26, 1934, daughter of Foster and Bertha Brigman Quick.
Shirley was a devoted wife and grandmother who enjoyed quilting, gardening, watching “Gunsmoke” and listening to TV sermons.
She was a member of Holland’s United Methodist Church for the majority of her life until she moved to Stokes, NC to live with her daughter and son-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William C. Fields of Garner, NC, parents and her brother James C. Quick of Melbourne, FL and sister Emily F. Quick of Hamlet, NC.
She is survived by: her sister, Carol J. Howard, of Hamlet, NC; her brother, Richard E. Quick, of Hamlet, NC; her two daughters, Donna Christine Milton of Billings MT and Miriam F. Coggins of Stokes, NC and husband Tracy B. Coggins. She is also survived by her three granddaughters, Jennifer C. Bateman of King George, VA and husband David B. Bateman; Elizabeth A. Coggins of Los Angeles, CA and Megan Milton of Billings, MT. She was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Noah L. Bateman and Scarlett V. Bateman of King George, VA. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
A graveside service will be held on November 9, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Holland’s Methodist Church Cemetery, 9433 Ten-Ten Rd, Raleigh, NC 27603.
In lieu of flowers, friends and family can make a donation to The Salvation Army or Sweet Gum Grove Free Will Baptist Church, Stokes N.C.
