Simon Turner Everett

November 22, 1983 — June 12, 2014

Born November 22nd 1983, in Raleigh and died tragically June 12th 2014. Simon was the oldest son of Justus and Becky Everett, brother to Jane Everett Goering and her husband Matt Goering, Bob Everett and his fiancée Ashlyn Seeley, Padowithz Alce and his wife Shonda and their son Aiden. His grandparents, Lefty and AC Barefoot, his aunt Susan Everett and her husband Don Hicks, Al and Susan Barefoot, and Jim Barefoot and his wife Wendy Miller, and his four cousins will remember him fondly.Simon attended Enloe High School, Hampden-Sydney College, and Wake Forest. He returned to Raleigh and was a founding partner of Walk to State, LLC, a property management company. Simon touched many lives and was involved in the community as an Assistant Scout Master for BSA Troop 207, White Memorial Presbyterian Church middle school youth advisor, Kiwanis, Rotary Club, Step Up Ministry, and numerous other activities being continuously revealed to the family. He cherished his time working with children at Camp Mondamin, where he was both a former camper and a counselor.Simon is one of nine Eagle Scouts transcending three generations of the family. He obtained three gold palms after earning the rank of Eagle Scout. He achieved many milestones in his professional career including being a real estate broker in charge, a licensed general contractor, private pilot, scuba diver, skydiver, and a commercial driver with all available endorsements. He loved engaging and serving other people, friends and family, with his friend Matt Zaytoun, he would cook bar-b-que and craft a gathering for any occasion. Zach Simmons and Simon developed a lifelong friendship, love of hard work, and laughter beginning at three years old. Simons parting words were always, What may I do for you? The family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 PM Monday in Pickard Hall at White Memorial Presbyterian Church. A Witness to the Resurrection to celebrate Simons life will be held at 5:00 PM Tuesday, June 17th at church.Arrangements by Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh.
