Sonnia Houanche

FUQUAY-VARINA – Sonnia Houanche, 79, passed away on Wednesday at her home. A native of Port Salut, Haiti, she was the daughter of the late Saint Vil Clerge and Rosida Alabre Clerge.


A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 9th at 10:00 am in the chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier. Burial will

follow the service at Lakeside Memorial Gardens, Angier. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, December 8th at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home.


Sonnia is survived by her husband of 47 years, Benoit Houanche; daughters, Marthe Lacoste ofFuquay-Varina, and Marjorie Houanche (Herbert Lainay) of Montreal, CA; son, Claude Houanche (Stephanie Houanche) of Fuquay-Varina; sister, Ursile Clerge of Port au Prince, Haiti; brother, Eril Clerge (Claudette) of Queens, NY; grandchildren, Christian Lacoste, Ariel Lacoste, Isabel Lacoste, Dabby Houanche, Jenicka Houanche, Stephane Houanche, Gabriella Houanche, Laila Houanche, Ketfield Lainay, Ayden Lainay; nieces and nephews, Emmanuel Clerge, Nathalie Clerge, and Patrick Clerge, Jimmy Clerge, Leeme Clerge, Wesley Clerge, Yvon Clerge, Raymond Clerge, Evelyne Clerge, Emilia Clerge, Gary Clerge, Lorie, Johane, Malaika, Pouchon, Mimose, Pedro, Jean-Donald, Lesly Lacoste, Evelyn Roger, Florence Pierre, Rachel Pierre, and Ines Pierre.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Emile Clerge, Villias Clerge, and Lecene Clerge.
