HOLLY SPRINGS - Sonya Caffee Fagan, age 90, passed on December 30, 2024, at her home in Holly Springs, NC. This greatest of friends, truth-telling bringer of goodwill - sweet tea in human form was determined to live a full life and let her life speak of God's love.
She is survived by her son, Joseph Daniel (Katherine) Fagan of Raleigh, NC; son, Phillip Kurt Fagan of Zebulon, NC; granddaughters, Mattlin Gail Fagan and Emilia Dean Fagan of Raleigh, NC; nephew, Norman (Sharon) Feese of Campbellsville, KY; sister-cousin, Lula (Gary) Polston of New Castle, KY; and so many beautiful cousins. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Dean Fagan; parents, Joseph Daniel Caffee and Eliza Francis Phillips of Mannsville, KY; and brother, Floyd (Virginia) Caffee of Campbellsville, KY.
"Nana" will be remembered by her granddaughters for her loving and cuddly spirit and as a quality time-giver. "Sissy" will always be the 'big sister' whose company and acts of loving hospitality made everyone feel special. To cousins, the epitome of southern elegance and class. To her friends, Sonya was the trusted conversation partner with an expression to fit every situation - a walking fortune cookie with a way of making everyone feel seen, heard, and valued. And "Mom" showed two boys the importance of character and how to be strong and tender in the same moment.
To Sonya's new friends at Southern Magnolia Living, your gift of friendship and care during the past twelve months made us all richer.
Sonya's advice . . . "Make the most of life; it's later than you think."
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held in the spring at Woodlawn Memorial Park chapel, Nashville, TN. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to United Cerebral Palsy of Middle Tennessee.
