Stephen Frederick Mann

Steve Mann, 73, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, August 23, at home surrounded by his loved ones.

Steve was born in Wake County on March 26, 1950, the son of the late Lawrence Truman Mann and Dorothy L. Mann.

Steve is survived by the love of his life, Elaine Rowland, and her children, Shannon (Brent) Decker and Steven (Darlene) Rowland; brother, Larry (Linda) Mann; sisters, Jean (Jesse) Higgins and Betty (Joel) Phillips; a special aunt and many beloved nieces and nephews; and his loyal canine companion, “Cowboy.”

Steve will be remembered as someone who could out-work, out-figure, and out-talk most anyone. He loved the Lord, his family and his friends and was generous to a fault.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks and appreciation for all those who lovingly cared for Steve and helped him through his final days before leaving for “Beulah land.”

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Hilltop Church in Fuquay-Varina. Burial will follow in the Sorrell Family Cemetery, Apex. The family will receive friends and relatives at the church prior to the service, from 10:00-10:45 AM.
