Steven Gray Howell

RALEIGH- Steven Gray Howell, 68, passed away on the morning of August 16, 2018 surrounded by his family and friends. A memorial service will be held Monday, 11:00 am at Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel, Garner. The family will receive friends Sunday at the funeral home from 6-8:00 pm. He was born on January 3, 1950 in Wayne County, NC, son of the late Don and Merle Kinsland Howell. Steve, as he was known by, lived his life always desiring to do good business and take care of people. Everyone who knew him understood that Steve would do anything for the ones he cared about. Steve was a pioneer in the security industry in Raleigh, NC for over 40 years. He owned his own security company, Gray, Inc., and was one of the founding members of the North Carolina Alarm Systems Association. He continued to work with his son in his own security company, Intelligent Security Concepts, LLC, up until his passing. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and dedicated wife, Alicia Beidler Howell of the home; children, Christopher and wife Amy, Alice Kinsland “Kinsie” and Boyd Gray “BG”, all of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren Shelby and Beckham Howell, of Raleigh, NC; brother and sister-in-law, Erick and Beth Beidler; step father and step mother, Bob and Edna Searey. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA of Wake County or the Alzheimer’s Association, ENC Chapter.
