Steven Wayne Doak, 59- years old of Four Oaks, NC left peacefully early Saturday morning, March 23, 2024, to be with Jesus after an 8-month battle with cancer. His last days were spent at home where in his words, Steven said, “I worked my whole life for this farm, and this is where I want to be.”
Steven is the son of the late Ronald Lloyd and Naomi Grace. He is survived by his wife, Erin of 24-years, his son, Jordan Anthony, daughter, Kyle Michelle, son, Nolan Alexander, granddaughter, Ally Michelle and grandson, Caleb Samuel.
Steven spent his life serving others. After retiring from the US Navy in 2003, Steven went on to serve his local community as a police officer with the Garner Police Department retiring in 2020. In his retirement, Steven actively ran Oaky Doak Farm, a nonprofit equine rescue, caring for abused and neglected horses.
A celebration of Steven’s life will be held at noon on Saturday, March 30th at his beloved farm located at 3338 NC Highway 96 South, Four Oaks NC 27524 followed by a Chicken Pickn’. Yall bring a side dish, folding chair and a fork.
