Angier- Sue Langdon Johnson, 89, of Angier, NC, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, June 14, surrounded by family. Born in Coats to Lexie and Mabel (Barnes) Langdon, “Fannie Sue”, as she was known locally, attended Coats High School, where she was senior class president, captain of the women’s basketball team, and valedictorian. She then attended Woman’s College of the University of North Carolina in Greensboro and began a career as Secretary-Treasurer of A.V. Anderson, Inc. in Raleigh.
In 1957, she married Fred Kenneth (Ken) Johnson of Benson. They lived in both North and South Carolina, raising their sons in Charlotte and Raleigh before returning to Harnett County to settle on family land in 1986.
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, Ken, and is survived by two sons, Frederick Todd Johnson of Aix-en-Provence, France, and Troy Britton Johnson of New York City, as well as a beloved granddaughter, Audrey LaHart Johnson.
A private family graveside service will be held at Plainview Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, June 20th. The family will receive visitors at Sue’s home beginning at 12:30 pm on Tuesday, June 20th. Additional details are available by contacting Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Angier.
