We regret to announce the passing of our beloved Sue Murphy Beavers. She transitioned peacefully to her heavenly home on February 10, 2024 surrounded by many friends and loving family at her home in Clayton, NC.
Sue was born April 17, 1949 in Kermit, WV to the loving parents of Harrison and Anna Mae Spaulding Murphy. Sue married the love of her life, Michael, on July 4, 1980. She remained loving and devoted to Michael for 43 years. To this union, five children were united as a family. Sue was a loyal servant to God fulfilling the call for her life and a prayer warrior interceding on behalf of others. Sue and Michael attended the Temple of Pentecost church and West Clayton Church of God. She had the ability to reach people in a loving and positive way. Sue was a passionate worker in the medical field for 40 years giving the best possible care to many. Nana was Sueʼs favorite name as she was a nurturing mother and grandmother. Sue was an excellent cook, avid reader, and enjoyed vacations at the beach.
She joins in heaven her parents Harrison Murphy and Anna Mae Spaulding Murphy, father-in-law Millard Beavers, mother-n-law Shirley Beavers, brother Granville Harrison “Spot” Murphy, and brother-in-law Millard Lee “Bud” (Jo) Beavers.
Sue leaves to cherish her memory husband, Michael Beavers; siblings Harold (Alice) Murphy of Dingess, WV, Sharon (Steve) Brock of Raleigh NC, Terry (Lynn) Murphy and Tony Murphy of Chapmanville WV; brother-in-laws Bruce (Teresa) Beavers, Richard (Sharon) Beavers, Allen (Peggy) Beavers, and sister-in- law Cheryl (Dwain) Counts; children Tabitha (Henry “CC”) Marcum, Chadd (Chasity Rice) Fillinger, Crystal (Justin) Dickerson, all of Clayton NC, Robin (Andrew) Seyller of Charleston SC, and Darrell (Valerie Norris) of Louisburg NC; grandchildren Kayla Fillinger, Brittany Norris, Kurstyn Fillinger, Erica Fillinger, Nicholas Fillinger, Ashton Goulet, Amelia Dickerson, Miles Dickerson, Hailey Beavers, Cameron Covington, Abby Covington, Raine Covington, Samantha Covington; great grand children Hudson Covington and Baby Jayde who will be arriving soon; a host of nieces and nephews; best friends Lynn Murphy, Sue Poplin, Teresa Beavers, Cathy Grant and Ginger Jones; her dog Scarlett of 15 years.
The family will receive friends at Temple of Pentecost, 2312 Lake Wheeler Rd, Raleigh, NC 27603 on Friday, February 16, 2024 from 11:00 am to 12:45 pm. Funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 pm. The graveside service will be at Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 S Wilmington St., Raleigh, NC 27603 on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 10:00 am. Pallbearers will be Nicholas Fillinger, Terry Murphy, Ethan Beavers, Justin Dickerson, Jason Beavers, Josh Beavers, and Derek Brantley.
The Beavers and Murphy family would like to express their sincere appreciation during this great sadness to the Temple of Pentecost, Pastor Bryan Ballestero and Bishop Wayne Huntley, West Clayton Church of God, Bishop Jason and Jenny Johnson, and the staff of Transitions LifeCare for the love and care they provided to Sue and her family.
