Sue Taylor Johnson

August 25, 1940 — March 16, 2018

Sue Katherine Taylor Johnson, 77, died peacefully on Friday at Morningside Assisted Living.  A native of Franklin County, she was the daughter of Herman and Ruby Taylor, and was a graduate of Bunn High School and Campbell College.  Sue was a retired elementary school teacher with over 30 years of service.  A strong Christian woman of the Baptist faith, she was a former member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church in Zebulon.  She was a current member of Forest Hills Baptist Church in Raleigh and was a prior dedicated nursery worker. Surviving are her husband of 40 years, Herbert G. Johnson; daughters, Amanda Goodman and husband, David of Charlotte and Jennifer Parrish and husband Jeremy of Garner; brother, Dr. Jimmy L. Taylor and wife Dot of Monroe; grandchildren, Brianna Ruby Goodman, Lauren Elizabeth Parrish and Carson Alexander Parrish; a lifetime friend who sent her weekly cards during her stay at Morningside, Harriett Lennon of Wilmington. A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Monday, March 19, 2018 at Forest Hills Baptist Church, 201 Dixie Trail, Raleigh with a reception and visitation to immediately follow at the church. Interment will be held 3:00 pm Monday at Pine Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery, 865 Pine Ridge Road, Zebulon. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pine Ridge Baptist Church, 865 Pine Ridge Road, Zebulon, NC 27597 or Amedisys Hospice Care, 220 Fidelity Court, Garner, NC 27529 or Alzheimers of North Carolina, 1305 Navaho Drive, Raleigh, North Carolina 27609.
