Susan "Peggy" Margaret Handerhan

ANGIER – Susan “Peggy” Margaret Handerhan, 93, passed away quietly and peacefully on

December 16, 2022, surrounded by her loving family at Oak Hill Living Center. Formerly of New Jersey, she recently moved to North Carolina.

She is survived by her five daughters, Patricia Slonka (Robert) of Lillington, NC, Jacqueline Bath of Spring Hill, TN, Susan Marino of Fort Myers , FL, Jo Ann Lambert of Sebastian, FL, and Peggy Ann Briggs (Ross) of Whiting, NJ; son, Thomas Handerhan (Cheryl) of Julian, WV; sisters, Michaelina Smith of Manchester, NJ, Jeanette Yuhas of TX; brother, Richard Cunningham (Carol) of FL; seventeen grandchildren; forty-six great- grandchildren; twenty-three great-great grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roland John Handerhan; her father, John Cunningham and mother, Catherine Minnock Cunningham; son, Father James Handerhan; brother, John Cunningham; and great-granddaughter, Anna Alexander; sons-in-law, Dennis Bath, Tony Marino and Ronald Lambert; daughter-in-law, Marlene Handerhan.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date by her family in New Jersey.
