Talmadge J. Little

RALEIGH – Talmadge J. Little, 92, died peacefully at his home in Raleigh on Sunday, February 19th with his wife and youngest son Gary by his side, after a period of declining health. He was born on July 22, 1930, in Brunswick County, NC, the son of Jesse and Bertha Little of Ash, NC.

Talmadge worked at Carolina Power & Light (now Duke Energy) for almost 40 years until his retirement in 1992. Until his declining health, he was a faithful member of St. John’s Baptist Church for over 65 years. He loved his family and spending time in the outdoors on his family farm in Brunswick County.

A private graveside service and burial will be held on Thursday, February 23rd, at Raleigh Memorial Park in Raleigh.

Talmadge is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Norma Sigmon Little; sons, Alex and Gary of Raleigh, Richard of Morrisville, and his daughter Nancy L. Goodling of Cary; grandchildren, Rachel T. Goodling of Raleigh and Amy E. Goodling of Boston. He is also survived by his youngest brother, Rex. D. Little of Wilmington, NC. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Thurston and Clarence; and his sisters, Ethel and Mabel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to a charity of one’s choice is encouraged.
