Ted lived a very full life that he enjoyed with family and friends. He survived a massive heart attack 25 years ago, which spurred his passion for nutrition, wellness, and health. He was determined to live on and share his love of life with everyone. He was a man that never met a stranger, the people who knew him really KNEW him, and the world is a better place having experienced his kindness, joy and compassion.
Teddy Lee Raab was born in 1938 in Sedalia, Missouri to Nola & Ken Raab. He was raised in Garner, North Carolina where he graduated from Garner High School in 1956. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina and was one of the proudest Tarheels on the planet. After participating in ROTC at UNC, he served in the United States Navy. In 1963 he wed Gerry Stephenson and had three daughters, Kim, Dawn & Leigh.
His career included a long tenure as an accountant for Sears Robuck & Co, followed by insurance sales for Colonial Life Insurance.
Ted was a Christian and enjoyed “spreading the word”. His hobbies included buying and selling antiques, watching sports, spending time with family and friends and fishing with his grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory are his three daughters, Kimberly Holland (Steve), Dawn Raab (Lesslie), Leigh Golightly (Sam); grandchildren, Ryan & Reid Golightly and Hunter & Aubrie Holland; his Fiancé, Carolyn Lynam and daughter, Nicole and the Kearney Family. He is also survived by his nephews, Matt Raab (Amy) and Mike Raab (Tara).
