Teresa “Terri” Carpenter

Mrs. Teresa “Terri” Kenn Smith Carpenter, 63, died on Tuesday, July 10, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Thomas H. and Beth Smith. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Allen C. Smith. Terri was a graduate of Appalachian State University with a BS and MA in Educational Media. She was an elementary Media Specialist and a homemaker. Terri was a devoted wife, mother, and friend who will be remembered for the many deeds of kindness and joy that she passed on to others. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Garner where she was involved in many activities. Terri helped teach the 2 and 3 year old Sunday School class for many years. Survivors of Mrs. Carpenter include her husband of 37 years, Rick, daughter Keni C. Johnson and her husband Dave, son Eric D. Carpenter and his wife Naz, brother Tommy Smith and his wife, Mona. Memorial service will be held Saturday July 14, 2018 at 2:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church of Garner with Rev. Ben Acton and Dr. Jim Ferry. Visitation will be held at the church one hour before the service from 1:00 - 2:00 pm. Terri requested that everyone wear bright colors, because “this is a celebration. I will be with Jesus.” In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Garner 503 Lakeside Dr. Garner, NC 27529 or SPCA of Wake County 200 Petfinder Lane Raleigh, NC 27603.
