Thomas Braxton Banks

Tom passed peacefully at his home in Smithfield. Tom graduated Garner High School in 1952 and had just hosted his class reunion. After graduation he joined the Navy serving four years. After serving, Tom attended and graduated from UNC Chapel Hill. He soon settled in the profession of real estate focusing on commercial property development. Tom was preceded in death by his wife Sara W. Banks and his son Thomas J. Banks. He is survived by his daughter Paula B. Page, grandson Thomas J. Banks II, brother Oliver Banks and sister Portia B. Dawson. He will be missed greatly by those that knew and loved him. Special thanks to his longtime caregiver Sabrina Pendleton for her dedication to his care. Tom's ashes will be scattered in a private ceremony. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wake/Johnston Habitat for Humanity chapter.
