Thomas E. Blake, 73, of Raleigh, passed away suddenly at Wake Medical Center Monday Sept. 23, surrounded by his loving family. A native of Wake County, he was the son of Irma Morris Blake and the late Robert Blake. Thomas retired from WRAL-TV after more than 30 years of service. The family will receive friends and relatives Thursday Sept. 26, at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Along with his father, Thomas was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Blake. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Linda Lawrence Blake; daughters, Kim Parrish and husband, Vernon and Donna Blake; sons, Thomas Blake, Jr., George Benjamin Blake, Sr. and Scott West; mother, Irma Morris Blake; sisters, Patricia Sanders and Becky Rogers; brothers, Wilber Blake and wife, Ellen, and William Blake; eight grandchildren, Breanna Blake, Benji Blake and wife, Courtney, Jacob Blake, Ashley Rodriguez, Sarah West, Cameron West, Dustin Wilson and Shannon Wilson, as well as eight great-grandchildren.
