Thomas F. Lowery

WAKE FOREST – Thomas F. Lowery, 59, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2022. He was born in Cuyahoga County, Ohio on March 31, 1963, the son of Joan and E. Thomas Lowery.

Thomas was a graduate of Lake Catholic High School, class of 1981, and Villanova University, class of 1985. As an avid Nova fan, he was always particularly proud of his alma mater’s 1985 NCAA Men’s Basketball championship his senior year. Sports were a large part of Thomas’ lifestyle as he cheered on all Cleveland sports, the Carolina Hurricanes, and Ohio State football. He loved hitting the fairways and greens, as golf was a main passion of his. Thomas also loved to be out on the water, whether it was cruising on a boat, or bumming it on the beach. He was always known to throw huge parties that everyone enjoyed, especially for the Summer Solstice where his love of music and "dancing like nobody was watching" could really shine.

Thomas was preceded in death by his father, E. Thomas Lowery.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ellen Lowery; children, Jeffrey Lowery (Tanja), Mike Lowery, and Megan Hewitt (Nathan); his granddaughters whom he adored, Aubree Hewitt and Emma Lowery; mother, Joan A. Lowery; brother, Rob Lowery (Debra); sister, Karen Frandanisa (Joe); and a host of friends and associates.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm on Thursday, October 27, 2022, at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Raleigh. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, October 28, 2022, at the Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral in Raleigh.
