Thomas Joseph Hawkins Usn Lt Retired

Thomas Joseph Hawkins, 66, passed away suddenly in Doha, Qatar, while working to build hospitals. Thomas proudly served his country, retiring from the U.S. Navy after 30 years. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday March 28, at 1 PM at the Bryan-Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Garner, with Military Honors. He will be inurned at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date with Full Military Honors. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; John and Lillian Hawkins; daughter Heather Hawkins, sister Jeanne Adams and brother Tim Hawkins. He is survived by his wife; Donna Dickenson Hawkins; daughter, Carrie Griffin and husband Jayson, sons, Thomas J. Hawkins, II and wife Amy, Damien Moessner; sisters, Anne Carey and husband Jimmy, Bonnie Feazel and husband Jimmy and Lynne O’Donohue and husband Dennis; brothers, Tony Hawkins and wife Gina, Mike Hawkins and wife Kathy and four grandchildren, Brier and Tyler Griffin, Ellie and Joseph Hawkins. The family will receive friends Fri. March 27, 2015 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner.
